Raya 'Fear Factor' - from Suria Mohd's Site

This is for the benefit of my friends n family...Anggun members already have direct access. I have been granted permission to spread the word of health by Suria Mohd. Hopefully the following will benefit you and your family...Insyallah. Read on....

Salam Slim!

Yesterday's Iftar Amal was most fun and best sekali. Unfortunately I was down with fever earlier so missed the rewang2 fun bit...Alhamdulillah cuaca elok, no rain, bright shining moon, perfect for the night..We had a whole array of choice menu for buka consisting of all the nutrients packed foods, shiok sedap and very the healthy...from fruits to the Anggun Power salad, sushi, spaghetti with mushroom and veggies, tuna and egg bread, Power Drink with crushed almonds, bubur brown rice kak Mun and air katira low fat kak mun, honeygar drink..Mmmmm so refreshing...Makan2 till 7.35pm then we sholat Magrib together-gether lead by Ustaz Hosni and Ustaz Musa...then had an hour break santai2 while waiting for Ishak and Terawih, we sprung a surprise on the September birthday babies...Karimah, Mazlan, Ita, Su and the rest of the Sept babies..itu ajelah cake chocolate yang terkeluar ring sikit : )

I gave a mini talk on how to overcome the "Fear Factor Raya" (Copyrights Kak Rosmah : )

Actually for those Anggun members who have been following the suggested Anti Aging Fasting methods..no will power is needed on raya day. Naturally the tekak wont be able to accept all the frieds, oils and sweets...After 1 whole mth of body overhaul, your engine dah tip top and will reject anything that it's not used to for that 1 mth..You wont be able to drink a sip of the sugared drinks, you will only be able to makan a quarter of what you would normally makan dulu on 1st day raya..

Early in the morn as usual Flax Seed oil. Can add to plain yoghurt with honey. Yoghurt is good to prepare the body for the food feasting during the day. Then have 1 glass of honeygar. Can add the herbal klenz too coz that will add the bulk to make us feel full.

I am not concerned about will power tapi more on how we fit in the open house Malay culture where makan2 is a must. Tak kan pergi rumah orang then duduk one corner tak makan langsung..nanti kecik hati pulak orang rumah tu..What I normally will do is I follow the flow, orang makan I pun self serve. That's one thing good now, most people have buffet style raya, so we are free to choose what goes on our plate. No one will put a gun on our heads to force food down our throats. The key is to follow the flow and join others in taking food..most to most orang akan perasan yang our plate is a bit different : ) Kalau orang tanya "Hai Diet ke?" well senyum aje lah...then if they say..."amik lagi tambah lagi.." just smile and say "terimakasih...ni kena kasi tempat kosong sikit untuk pergi 2 3 rumah lagi nih"

Request for plain water coz dun expect the host to serve water kan..They'll be more than happy to oblige.. Bring your honeygar drink in the car, and drink your honeygar before going to the next house. You wont have room for any cemil-cemilan this way..

When choosing foods for makan raya, just focus on the system 5, select foods for their nutrient content not just for the tekak content : ) Stick to the potion sizes 1 psc ketupat + 1 protein dish + fruits if any else the sayur lodeh has lots of veggies can pile your plate with that : ) so orang nampak plate kita penuh dia pun tak berani tegur : ) Stay clear of all carbonated sugared drinks and moderate the kuih-muih intake.

We dont want to ruin our 1 mths effort of taking good care of our body with this 2 weeks of huray huray food feasting. Kereta baru keluar workshop tak kan nak masukkan pasir? so makan boleh makan just need to stick to some basic and simple strategies above.

Eid is about kemenangan, about celebrating our triumph in spiritual, mental, emotional and physical well being. Its about celebrating freedom from being chained to old bad habits and patterns. For 1 mth we have kept to our amanah of keeping our body clean from anything harmful, we jaga our sahur and ifta and eat only nutrient rich foods, So Eid is a day we celebrate and by celebrating we take further pride in our body our mind our spirit. We celebrate by enhancing our health not breaking it down. We celebrate by enhancing our ukwah through visiting each other etc minus the food feasting beyond control. True celebration of triumph against nafsu is when we can apply all that we have learnt in Ramadhan during Syawal.

Islam already has a system that helps to create the healthiest society in the world...As muslims we ought to be the healthiest and fittest not otherwise. Sadly year after year the Malay Muslims in Singapore ranked tops in most chronic health problems. Allah states that we only bring down upon ourselves our own misfortunes. Let's not be part of that statistics..let us be the torch bearers of health. It's a long battle ahead given our community's mindsets and food habits, but we focus on one family at a time, slowly yet surely : )

PS: After all the open house dah tutup, you can start your jumpstart plan again for 3 days.. a great way to cleanse the system after all the ketupat rendang..

PSS: For Anggun members, do attend the next Anggun core "Bakar lemak Bakar Semangat" session 18th Oct, for a total mind overhaul too : ) A great way to keep the mental engine running & stay motivated in this weight loss journey..
